Besides your smartphone, I highly recommend you start using an app to enhance your images. Simple things like straightening a tilted horizon, cropping or fixing colors can make a huge difference to your images. There are tons of apps on the iTunes store as well as on Google’s Play store. I recommend Google’s Snapseed. You will find it very easy to use. Here is a quick tutorial for using Snapseed.
